Beautiful Paint Rock David. This stuff takes an awesome polish and cabs very well. I would like to get back up there one of these days.

Looks like Rodney may be getting a trip up back to Paint Rock in March. I just finished the attached cab from the slab I posted earlier. The other cabs are Tepee Agate from South Dakota and quartz with lazulite, kyanite and pyrite from Graves Mountain. The slab is the Tepee agate from the Black Hills.

Thanks, I have a few small crystals but nothing to compare with what some folks have found there. They have open weekends at the pit each April and October that I try and go to. Each time I learn something new about the place and find better specimens.

Paint Rock trip Saturday March 5, 2011

Saturdays trip up to Paint Rock wasn't cold but sure rainy! Didn't slow down the digging and turned out to be a great day of collecting.
